New stainless steel spacer launched

ASTRAZENECA has launched a new spacer device (Nebuchamber). The device is made of stainless steel so that it is non-electrostatic and allows the chamber to deliver a greater proportion of fine droplets and therefore, a higher percentage of the nominal dose, compared with plastic spacers. It also has a longer lifespan — three years compared with six to 12 months for plastic spacers.

Nebuchambers will also be available for dispensing, packaged with Pulmicort metered dose inhaler 200µg, attracting one prescription charge.
