Society appoints new practice pharmacist

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has appointed a new practice pharmacist in its practice division. He is Kailas Mahadevaiah, who joins the Society on a 12-month secondment from Moss Pharmacy, where he worked in the pharmacy superintendents' office. His work will cover skill mix issues, national service frameworks, NHS Direct and NHS 24. Janet Flint, who previously held this role, has a new responsibility as project manager for the steering group on the regulation of pharmacy support staff.

Nigel Graham, the Society's head of practice, said: "The appointment of Kailas will allow the practice division to commit more resource to two key workstreams in particular: the regulation of support staff and skill mix."
