Sociology

Not relevant to pharmacy

From Mr J. H. Morgan, MRPharmS

I have just read the article (PDF 70K) "The social context of pharmacy" (PJ, 21 September, pp395–7). I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent, but I found it to be completely incomprehensible and of no relevance to pharmacy in general. These types of articles are the main reason that the average pharmacist never reads the PJ. The language would only be understandable to someone with a degree in sociology (an irrelevant science at the best of times). I would be interested to know what they were trying to convey.
