Ask about medicines week in 2003Patients are to be invited to discuss any difficulties or queries they have about their medicines as part of a UK-wide campaign Ask about medicines week which will be in October 2003. The campaign is a joint initiative run by the Medicines Partnership, the Doctor Patient Partnership and the PECMI (Promoting Excellence in Consumer Medicines Information) working group. The aim is to make the week the focus of a long-term effort to encourage patients to begin dialogues with doctors, pharmacists and other health care professionals about the medicines they are prescribed, and make both sides better informed about each others views so that the best use can be made of medicines. Pharmacists and other health care professionals will be sent materials which will enable them to take part in the campaign week. Any organisation interested in taking a more active role in the week should contact Ask About Medicines Week, c/o Doctor Patient Partnership, Tavistock House, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9JP.
