Free trial of Martindale Online offered to health professionals in Scotland

The Pharmaceutical Press — the publishing arm of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society — is offering a free trial of the online version of Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference to health professionals within the National Health Service in Scotland.

Quick and easy access to Martindale is being made available through the NHS Scotland e-Library website (www.elib.scot.nhs.uk). The trial period will run into 2003 and will also incorporate on-line access to Stockley’s Drug Interactions from early in 2003.

Welcoming the trial, Dr Ann Wales, library service development co-ordinator for NHS Scotland, said: “The NHS Scotland e-Library aims to deliver high quality health information to point of need. We are especially delighted that Martindale, a vital clinical information resource, is now available on the desktop to support pharmacists and clinicians in hospitals and in the community across NHS Scotland.”

For further information and a password, health professionals in Scotland should contact their local NHS Scotland libraries, a list of which is available at www.elib.scot.nhs.uk/dirlib.asp. Further information is also available from Dr Wales (e-mail ann.wales@scpmde. scot.nhs.uk) or from Peter Goacher in the Society’s Publications Directorate (e-mail pgoacher@rpsgb.org.uk).
