Dispensing glucosamine

The Prescription Pricing Authority has decided that National Health Service prescriptions for glucosamine and glucosamine sulphate can be reimbursed because glucosamine and glucosamine sulphate are recommended International Non-proprietary Names (rINNs).

This means that blacklisted products can be dispensed against generically written prescriptions for the two ingredients. Any prescriptions that have been disallowed can be resubmitted for payment.
