Omacor capsules launched

Omacor capsules containing 1g of 90 per cent concentrate of omega-3-acid ethyl esters (46 per cent eicosapentaenoic acid and 38 per cent docosahexaenoic acid) have been launched this week by Solvay Healthcare (see p709).

They are licensed as an adjuvant in secondary prevention after myocardial infarction as well as for treating endogenous hypertriglyceridaemia as a supplement to diet when dietary measures alone are insufficient.
