NHS Scotland logos sent to pharmacies
Community pharmacies in Scotland have been sent stickers and posters to display bearing the National Health Service in Scotland logo. A letter to pharmacy contractors signed by Bill Scott, chief pharmaceutical officer at the Scottish Executive, and Frank Owens, chairman of the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council, notes that encouraging pharmacies to display the NHS Scotland logo was a commitment in the Scottish pharmaceutical care strategy. "We write to commend this initiative to you and to seek your support in displaying the materials in your windows and dispensary areas," the two signatories say. Mr Owens told The Journal that a recent survey by the Scottish Consumer Council (PJ, 30 November 2002, p769) found that only half of the respondents believed that community pharmacies were part of the NHS. |
