Locums

Four years of study and only £3 an hour better off

From Ms R. Isap, MRPharmS

I frequently read with interest comments in the PJ about how locums are paid too much (a mere £18 to £20 per hour).

Perhaps those who have a problem with this may like to make their feelings known about pharmacy technicians who locum in hospitals with little or no experience and earn around £16 per hour.

I for one wonder why I wasted four years of my life studying for a degree to end up £3 an hour better off.

R. Isap
