Erectile dysfunction on the up

Recorded diagnoses of erectile dysfunction have more than doubled since the launch of sildenafil (Viagra) in the United Kingdom, researchers report.

Using data from the UK general practice research database they found that the incidence of this condition increased gradually during the mid-1990s then rose two- to three-fold from 1998 to 2000 (BMJ 2003;326:424).
