"Square" to produce guidelines on support for disabled students

Research into improving provision for disabled pharmacy students is to be carried out at the School of Pharmacy, University of London.

The school has been granted £96,000 by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to conduct the three-year project. The aims are to establish base-level provision for students with disabilities at the School of Pharmacy and to develop an evidence base on barriers to the study and profession of pharmacy and how these might be overcome. This will be used to produce subject specific guidelines on the admission, support and assessment of students with disabilities.

The project will culminate in a national conference in 2005.

The school is now looking to recruit a pharmacist as part-time project manager (PJ, 22 March, pA30). Dr Les Fowler is still interested to hear from potential applicants on 020 7753 5895 or by e-mail to les.fowler@ulsop.ac.uk.
