Better use of IT wins awards

Winners of the 2003 Healthcare IT Effectiveness awards include Walsall Health Partnerships (Walsall PCT, Walsall Acute Trust and Walsall social services) and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust.

The Walsall project involved the building of a web-based patient record which is securely accessible via networks and the internet. Meanwhile, the Calderdale and Huddersfield project involved creating a radiological "film-free" hospital.
