Boots withdraws Wellbeing servicesBoots The Chemists has announced that it is to withdraw its Wellbeing services completely. The decision follows the discontinuation of some of the complementary health Wellbeing services in February this year. The Wellbeing brand offering beauty and health services was introduced in 12 branches of Boots in England. Its failure will cost the company £34m of which £16m relates to writing off assets. The company is also ending a trial of Pure Beauty specialist beauty stores. Each will be closed or converted to the Boots The Chemists format. How the withdrawals will impact on pharmacy-based services such as Boots's smoking cessation programme remains to be seen. A company spokeswoman said that a final decision had yet to be made. Nurse-led-travel vaccine clinics will be cut. |
