New chairman appointed for CSM

Professor Gordon Duff has been appointed chairman of the Committee on Safety of Medicines.

Professor Duff is director of the division of genomic medicine at the University of Sheffield. He has been a member of the CSM since 1995 and was chairman of its biological subcommittee. He succeeds Professor Alasdair Breckenridge who has taken up the role of chairman of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
