SIGN advises on childhood obesityThe Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network has issued guidelines on the management of obesity in children. SIGN recommends that life style changes should only be considered in a child defined as obese (>=98th centile) and where the child and family are thought to be ready to make those changes. SIGN adds that there is no evidence to support the use of drug treatment for obese children. The guideline is available via the SIGN website. |
