Osteoporosis drive launched in ScotlandA drive to improve osteoporosis treatment and awareness of the condition has been launched this week by the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, NHS Health Scotland and the National Osteoporosis Society. As part of the campaign SIGN will launch a new clinical guideline on the management of osteoporosis on 20 June. This includes a summary of the evidence supporting treatments for osteoporosis. It will be available at the SIGN website (www.sign.ac.uk). The organisations are also calling for an end to restricted availability of scanning devices, saying that they should be provided in all health boards. |
