Y chromosome sequenced

The genome sequence of the human Y chromosome was published this week in Nature (2003;423:825).

The work was completed by researchers from the Whitehead Institute, MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, who say the sequence could give some insight into the genetic defects that cause male infertility.
