Branch and regional committee members recognised for long service
A number of long-serving members of Royal Pharmaceutical Society branch and regional committees have recently been awarded certificates recognising long service in their local area. One pharmacist, Lady Perris (Connie), has received certificates for both branch and regional service. She has been a member of the Birmingham branch committee for 32 years and the West Midlands regional committee for 17 years. Other certificates for long service on branch committees have been awarded to Joan Alderson (Central Lancashire), Lesley Anderson (Ipswich), Madeleine Davies (Morgannwg), George Greig (Northern Scottish), Bryan Hanson (Crawley, Horsham and Reigate), Ruth Horner (Manchester, Salford and Trafford), John Liddle (Durham), John Peattie (West Metropolitan), Reginald Ratcliffe (Coventry and Warwickshire), Peter Rees (Mid Glamorgan East), Ruth Shaw (Bolton), John Smith (Sunderland), Barry Stansfield (West Cumberland), Peter Treagust (Worthing and West Sussex), Neville Wakeford (Croydon) and George Western (East Cumberland),
Other certificates recognising long service on regional committee have gone to Brian Riley (Mersey) and David Stokes (North Western) The certificates are awarded under a scheme introduced in October 2001 in response to a resolution of the 2000 branch representatives' meeting. Members must have served at least 15 years on the branch or regional committee to be nominated for a certificate by their committee. The certificates are signed by the President of the Society and are normally presented at a meeting of the branch or region. |
