New finance and resources director
A new director of finance and resources, Bernard Kelly, is to join the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's executive team on 28 July. Since January 2000 Mr Kelly has been director of finance and operations with the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). He had previously spent 17 years with the Thorn EMI group, progressing to become deputy finance director for EMI Music Worldwide, followed by seven years with CIC International as chief financial officer and executive vice-president and three years with MTV Europe as chief financial officer. Mr Kelly succeeds Hugh Mitchell, who was appointed as director of resources on an interim basis following the departure from the Society of Denis Argent in May 2001 after 14 years in the post. Commenting on Mr Kelly's appointment, the Society's Secretary and Registrar, Ann Lewis, said that he would bring a great deal of knowledge and experience from a career marked by significant involvement in change. |
