Our very own match for Ben Schott

On what evidence does P. A. Hardy (PJ, 28 June, p888) assert that the Onlooker column "does not hold a grip on the membership"? It is my favourite bit. Now that it has been demoted to the rear pages, I look forward to its sometimes quaint, but perceptive, "Middle England" revelations after romping through all the worthy stuff.

To my mind, Onlooker is unstuffy and our very own match for Ben Schott and his Schott's Original Miscellany — a best seller, Mr Hardy please note.
