National conference will discuss pharmacy workforce

A national conference on the contribution of the pharmacy workforce to the National Health Service is to be held in the autumn with the support of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. It is being organised by the Pharmacy Workforce Planning and Policy Advisory Group, which includes the Society, the Department of Health and the devolved administrations of Scotland and Wales.

The aim is to bring together academics, policy-makers, health professionals and others with an interest in workforce planning to hear about the latest pharmacy workforce research and the next steps in pharmacy workforce planning. The programme will include a presentation by Andrew Foster, Director of Human Resources for the NHS, who will explore the potential of pharmacy's contribution to the NHS "Agenda for change" programme.

The conference will take place in London on 25 September. Those who wish to attend are asked to register their interest before 15 August by contacting Kerry Crabb at the Society (e-mail kcrabb@rpsgb.org.uk; tel 020 7572 2275; fax 020 7572 2506). The cost is £75.
