Roche discontinues Palfium

Roche has discontinued Palfium (dextromoramide) following supply problems over recent years as a result of difficulties in obtaining the active ingredient.

It is possible that specialist importers IDIS (www.idispharma.com) may be able to provide supplies on a named patient basis. However, IDIS holds only limited amounts of dextromoramide 5mg and this is likely to run out by the end of the year.

There is no generic equivalent of Palfium available on the United Kingdom market. Roche suggests patients should be transferred to other analgesics and that no new patients should be started on Palfium.
