Coronavirus is cause of SARS

A novel coronavirus has been confirmed as the primary cause of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

Researchers tested clinical and postmortem samples from 436 SARS patients and diagnosed SARS-associated coronavirus in 75 per cent of the samples. Other respiratory pathogens were diagnosed only sporadically, they say.
