Triple therapy linked to non-response in patients with HIVNew triple therapy regimens for patients infected with HIV should not consist of the combination abacavir (Ziagen), lamivudine (Epivir) and tenofovir (Viread), the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products has warned. Any patients already receiving this combination
should be monitored frequently for signs of viral load increase. The
advice is particularly important for once-daily regimens, says the
EMEA. |
