MS risk reduced by sun exposureExposure to the sun during childhood and early adolescence may protect against the development of multiple sclerosis. A study conducted in Tasmania found that the risk of developing the disease was inversely proportional to the amount of sun exposure when aged 6–15 years. Higher exposure in winter was particularly important (BMJ 2003;327:316). |
