Study supports pharmaceutical care

A United States study provides new evidence to support the concept of pharmaceutical care.

Researchers reviewed therapeutic decisions made by pharmacists and found them to be clinically credible. By the end of the pharmaceutical care programme patients’ drug therapy problems had been resolved in 89 per cent of cases (Archives of Internal Medicine 2003;163:1813).
