Ethnicity is factor in heart disease

Ethnicity is a factor in the development and course of heart failure, say researchers.

They found that more South Asian people are admitted to hospital with heart failure but are less likely to die than white people. South Asian patients were also younger and more often male than white patients (BMJ 2003;327:526).
