MHRA chief executive appointed

Professor Kent Woods, professor of therapeutics at Leicester university, has been appointed chief executive of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. Professor Woods, who is a past member of the pharmacolvigilance subcommittee of the Committee on Safety of Medicines, will take up the post on 1 January 2004.
