Text messages and health inequality

Sending text messages to patients might increase health inequalities, argues Dr Daragh Fahey, Camden Primary Care Trust, London, in a letter to the BMJ. He suggests that people who can afford to own mobile phones would be less likely to miss appointments and are therefore more likely to receive better health care (2003;327:564).
