New leaflet to help people learn about their medicines
A new leaflet from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, "Know your medicines", offers the public advice on medicines and encourages them to visit their pharmacist for expert advice.
The leaflet incorporates the logo for “Ask about medicines week” (12
to 18 October) and can be used by pharmacists to support local initiatives
taking place during that week.
Copies of the leaflet have been distributed to community pharmacies inside
the September issue of the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee’s
Community Pharmacy News magazine. It is also being distributed through
the Society’s branch and regional network. Pharmacists wishing
to order copies of the leaflet should e-mail their name, registration
number and delivery address to b&ra@rpsgb.org.uk. A PDF version of
the leaflet can be viewed in the medicines
section of the Society’s
website.
The Society’s Secretary and Registrar, Ann Lewis, said: “Although
modern medicines are safe and effective it is important that people have
the right information about how best to take them. Know your medicines
provides the public with simple information and guidance and also highlights
pharmacists’ expertise in this important area of health care.
