Minister sets out ETP review

Health Minister Rosie Winterton took advantage of her speech to the British Pharmaceutical Conference in Harrogate this week to say the that a review of the electronic transmission of prescriptions (ETP) pilots has been published.

The review says that ETP is technically feasible. Early problems with the pilots were due to software issues and the need to obtain written consent from all patients taking part. It recommends that a single common model of ETP be adopted. The Journal will have further details and comment next week.
