The Royal Pharmaceutical Society opened its doors to the public on Saturday 20 September as part of the 2003 London Open House weekend.
Visitors took the opportunity to have a guided tour around the Council
Chamber, committee rooms, Council dining room, assembly hall and roof
terrace. Many also spent time viewing the museum displays on the first
floor, and a display about the Society’s headquarters which had
been prepared specifically for the Open House weekend.
The Society’s Keeper of the Museum Collections, Briony Hudson,
said: “By taking part in London Open House visitors are able to
learn more about the Society, its history, and the building itself. Making
the museum displays and historic portraits accessible to the public is
a key part of the event and is an added attraction which we know that
visitors enjoy.”
