Control of entry reform group named

Two pharmacists are members of the expert group advising the Government on changes to the control of entry regulations in England. One of them, Professor David Taylor (University of London School of Pharmacy), represents the Patients Association. The other is Steve Williams of the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PJ, 27 September, p393). Other members of the expert group are:

• Professor Margaret Bloom, a former Office of Fair Trading director of competition enforcement
• Frances Blunden, principal health policy adviser, Consumers’ Association
• Paul Burns, chief executive, Family Health Services Appeals Authority
• Dr Russell Walshaw, General Practitioners’ Committee, BMA
• Dr John Chisholm, chairman, General Practitioners’ Committee
• Professor Martin Partington, a Law Commissioner for England and Wales
• Professor Monder Ram, professor of small business research, De Montfort University, and a member of the Ethnic Minority Business Forum
• Chris Town, chief executive, Peterborough Primary Care Partnership and representing the NHS Confederation
• Sue Sharpe, chief executive, PSNC
