Advantage for tacrolimus

Tacrolimus ointment is more effective than pimecrolimus cream in atopic dermatitis, researchers claimed last week at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology congress in Barcelona.

A study comparing the treatments in children found that 38 per cent were clear of symptoms after six weeks’ treatment with tacrolimus compared with only 20 per cent given pimecrolimus.
