Predictable dose for insulin inhaler

Regular insulin delivered via the Aerodose insulin inhaler will provide a “pharmacologically predictable” dose of insulin similar to that observed following subcutaneous injection. So say Californian researchers looking at the overlapping dose response curves of inhaled and subcutaneous treatments. Their study was carried out in 24 patients with type 2 diabetes (Diabetes Care 2003;26:2842).
