Anastrozole benefit over tamoxifen

The latest data to come from the ATAC (Arimidex, tamoxifen alone or in combination) study indicates that women treated with anastrozole (Arimidex) continue to remain free of breast cancer for longer than women treated with tamoxifen. Of 3,125 women treated with anastrozole, 413 have had a breast cancer relapse, or died, compared with 472 of 3,116 women treated with tamoxifen (Cancer 2003;98:1802).
