New Home Office telephone number for confirming practitioners' CD status

The Home Office has advised the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of a new telephone number for confirming whether or not a practitioner has had a direction made against him or her, under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, prohibiting him from dealing with Controlled Drugs. The new number is 020 7217 8230. It replaces the number (020 7273 3530) given on page 26 of the current edition (No 27) of ‘Medicines, ethics and practice: a guide for pharmacists’.
