Rituximab boosts standard therapy

Adding rituximab (MabThera) to conventional chemotherapy can improve outcomes for patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, results from two studies suggest. MabThera is licensed for use as a single agent in chemotherapy-resistant non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma but the new data show that a combination of rituximab plus conventional therapy prolongs time to treatment failure.

Data from the studies were presented at the American Society of Hematology meeting in San Diego earlier this month.
