Remicade infusion
The summary of product characteristics for Remicade (infliximab) now
states that
for treatment of fistulising, active Crohn’s disease, no additional
treatment with infliximab should be given to patients not responding
after the three initial doses. In patients who respond, strategies for
continued treatment are additional infusions of 5mg/kg every eight weeks,
or readministration if signs and symptoms of the disease recur followed
by infusions of 5mg/kg every eight weeks (Schering-Plough). Details have
been added about the development of antibodies to infliximab. See SPC.
Asmanex Twisthaler
The summary of product characteristics for Asmanex Twisthaler (mometasone
furoate) now states that systemic effects of inhaled corticosteroids
may occur, particularly when prescribed at high doses for prolonged
periods. These may include adrenal suppression, growth retardation
in children and adolescents, decrease in bone mineral density, cataract
and glaucoma (Schering-Plough). See SPC.
