Pharmacists' personal habits under scrutiny
Pharmacists, and other health professionals, have been committed to
leading by example in the fight against smoking.
At the World Health Organization last week, EuroPharm Forum and the International
Pharmaceutical Federation, both of which include the Royal Pharmaceutical
Society among their members, signed up to a code of practice committing
them to encourage individual pharmacists to be role models in tobacco
control activities by not using tobacco
personally and by promoting a tobacco-free culture.
The code also requires professional associations to assess and address
their members’ usage of, and attitudes towards, tobacco and their
behaviour. |
