Decide on HRT on individual basis

Deciding whether or not to use hormone replacement therapy (HRT) should be on an individual basis rather than on a population basis.

Researchers found that benefits of HRT treatment depended on the severity of menopausal symptoms and women’s perceptions. Using HRT in women without symptoms was unjustified (BMJ 2004;328:371).
