Society to develop a strategy for input to IT policy in the NHS

The Society's Council is to establish a working group to develop a strategy for pharmaceutical input into the NHS National Programme for Information Technology. The strategy group will consist of relevant senior members of staff, Council members and suitable experts co-opted either as permanent or temporary members. At the February Council meeting, members noted that the Society had already undertaken a great deal of IT work both on the technical side and on the more strategic side. A well-defined strategy would support the Secretary and Registrar as a member of the National Clinical Advisory Board.
