President and V-P no longer to serve on all committees

The Privy Council has approved an amendment to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Byelaws to delete a requirement that the President and Vice-President shall be ex officio members of all Council committees.

The change had been sought by the Society a year ago (PJ, 15 February 2003, p251) to allow the implementation of decisions, made on the recommendation of its corporate governance group, about the future structure of the Council and its committees (PJ, 15 February 2003, p245).
