Pfizer helps pharmacists capitalise on health care market

A report designed to help pharmacists and other medicines retailers capitalise on the UK health care market has been launched by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.

The report entitled “The Vision: 2004 Healthcare Market Insight” makes recommendations for the range, display and promotion of over-the-counter products.

Pfizer has identified four distinct types of shopper.

Those who are reluctant users of medicines, those who purchase medicines and use them regularly, those who hoard medicines, and those who buy medicines only when they are absolutely necessary. The company says that by identifying these four different shopper types and their behaviour, it is possible to develop consumer-friendly ways to offer products for sale.

The report will be available from 8 March from Pfizer on 01737 331164 or email InsightUK@pfizer.com

Training for pharmacy staff is also available. Pharmacists interested in Pfizer’s training package can get more details at www.comedis.com.
