High vs low dose ramipril

High doses of ramipril are preferable to low doses in the prevention of cardiovascular and renal events in high risk patients, say researchers.

Low dose ramipril (1.25mg per day) did not prevent events in patients with type 2 diabetes and albuminuria, although it slightly reduced their blood pressure and albuminuria (BMJ 2004;328:495).
