Scottish Department launches newsletter for members in Scotland
The Scottish Department of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has launched a newsletter for Scottish members of the profession. It forms part of a new communications strategy in Scotland and is intended to be a vehicle for the Society, branches and members to communicate with each other about issues, events and activities in Scotland.
The first issue reports on the Society’s evidence to the Scottish
Parliament’s Health Committee and its submission to the draft Sexual
Health and Relationships Strategy. It also includes news of branch activities
and a profile of the Acting Secretary of the Scottish Department, Nigel
Graham.
The newsletter will be distributed through The Pharmaceutical Journal and will also be available on the Scottish Department’s website.
David Thomson, chairman of the Society’s Scottish Department, said: “I
am delighted that the first issue of our new Scottish members newsletter
has now been launched. It is imperative that our members are aware of
and kept informed of the Society’s activities such as our appearance
in front of the Health Committee and our submission to the Sexual Health
Strategy Consultation. It is equally important that we in turn know what
good work is being done at a local level. The newsletter complements
the recently launched website and provides another medium to enable the
Society, the branches and members to communicate with each other about
current issues and activities in Scotland. The newsletter forms part
of what we see as a developing communications process and I would encourage
all members to contribute to it.”
All members of the Society in Scotland are encouraged to submit articles
for inclusion in the newsletter. Comments and suggestions should be sent
to Scottish Department, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 36 York Place,
Edinburgh EH1 3HU (tel 0131 556 4386; fax 0131 558 8850; e-mail info@rpsis.com).
