CPD

No more than five minutes a month should be enough

From Mr M. G. Jones, MRPharmS

I challenge Fred Ayling’s statement that “a commitment of 30 minutes a month to documentation of continuing professional development seems reasonable” (PJ, 6 March, p281). I value my professional time at £70 per hour; £35 to document what I have done is excessive, especially when I am forced to pay the Royal Pharmaceutical Society for this “privilege”.

A simple communication of topics and time spent should be sufficient — no more than five minutes a month. The other 25 minutes I can spend on constructive CPD.

Mike Jones
Arundel, West Sussex
