Money for deprived areasFunding for pilot projects that aim to improve access to health care in deprived communities in Scotland was announced last month. The allocated £15m will be used to look at ways of improving access to treatment of major diseases and the uptake of screening and prevention services, which is lower than in affluent areas. The three NHS board areas to benefit from the funding are in Greater Glasgow, Tayside, and Argyll and Clyde. |
