Ban on Sunday sales of methylated spirits lifted in England, Wales and NI

The Regulatory Reform (Sunday Trading) Order 2004, which came into force on 27 February, amends the Revenue Act 1889 to allow the sale of methylated spirits between 10pm on Saturday evening and 8am on the following Monday morning in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The repeal of the restriction on weekend sales does not apply in Scotland, where any relaxation of control will have to be passed by the Scottish Parliament.
