Special £5 day rate for students at BPC 2004

A special day rate of £5+VAT will be available for a limited number of fourth-year MPharm students and preregistration trainees attending the British Pharmaceutical Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday 29 September.

On the morning of that day, students will be able to attend conference scientific and practice sessions. In the afternoon, a special session for students will review career opportunities.

Wally Dove, chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Conference Committee, said: “BPC is the UK’s biggest and best event for pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. We hope that through introduction of a £5 rate we can sow the seeds for the future generation of BPC delegates.”

Professor Ruth Duncan, Science Chairman for the 2004 conference, said: “The Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and pharmaceutical industry colleagues have all been supportive of this idea and we have written to all heads of schools and the British Pharmaceutical Students Association, who we are confident will welcome it too.”

The special student places will be allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, and early booking will be essential. Fliers and booking forms have been distributed to all schools of pharmacy in the UK.

The 2004 British Pharmaceutical Conference is to be held at Manchester International Convention Centre from Monday 27 September to Wednesday 29 September. The conference theme is “Medicines: from cell to society”.
